Tippecanoe County Siren Test (poor quality)

This poor quality video was taken with my cell phone back in March when Indiana conducted it’s statewide tornado drill around 7pm. I’ve put off uploading this because of the bad quality but I decided to anyways. Sirens heard are a 2T22, a 3T22, a STH10, and some 2001’s. Filmed near Purdue West at Purdue University.

You are correct, that is probably the closest siren to where I was, although the one in Purdue Village is pretty close as well.
There are no bars in Purdue West now. If there was, I would probably go have a few drinks over there on nights when i work at McCutcheon, haha

The closest one to you there must be the one on Earhart I would imagine. By the way, what are they calling the little bar in Purdue West these days(if it’s even still there)? It used to be Charlie’s a while back, it was a cool bar

It could have been the other 2t22 that’s nearby. I would like to eventually get a recording of each individual siren at Purdue, but that will take a while considering they only test once a month.

No unfortunately I did not get a recording of those T-bolts. The test fell on the day of our first home football game so I was out tailgating at the time. Unfortunately, I think the same thing is going to happen next month, but I will try to record it before I go to the game or something.

I’ve heard a recording of that STH-10, and it does sound pretty low pitched. This siren I was hearing sounded like an underpowered xT22, only going 3/4 of the spead it normally would. In the most recent video I’ve seen from Purdue, the 2T22 and the 3T22 sounded fine, so if it was one of them, they must have gotten it fixed.

BTW, did you ever make a recording between those two TBolts you were telling me about?

I’m not entirely sure. There was a 3T22 and a 2T22 really close to where I was so it could have been either of them. The STH10 on the other side of campus is pretty low pitched so it could have even been that. This was recorded on my cell phone, so the sound is a little distorted

What was the lowest pitched siren? It sounded like a sick 2T22.
