This is an audio recording of the Tippecanoe County siren test for April of ‘09. This was recorded from my bedroom window. You can hear many 2001 AC’s and a Thunderbolt 1000T. You should be able to hear a Thunderbeam, but it failed to activate.

Yeah, I guess …
Yeah, I guess you’re probably right.
Sounds very far away, so it is hard to distinguish if there really is a dual-tone, but I guess there is.

We dont have any …
We dont have any 1000’s in Tippecanoe County. All you should be able to hear in this video is 2001’s and the 1000T. There is another 1000T that’s high pitched at West Lafayette High School, but that’s pretty far away… who knows, maybe you can hear that one?

Do I hear a t-bolt 1000 sounding at the pitch E?

Yeah Thunderbolts …
Yeah Thunderbolts can be heard quite a long ways cause they have that roar sound that penetrates more then 2001s.

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the comment Dan! I like the sound of that 1000T too. It’s almost 2 miles away and it still sounds pretty powerful from here. That closest 2001 really has some bite to it though if you’re actually sitting in my room with the windows open.

I like the 1000T …
I like the 1000T the best cause it sounds the scariest to me.
