Rodrigue’s Acadiana is a collaborative effort between the ULL College of the Arts, the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum, Acadiana Arts Council, Acadiana Center for the Arts, Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission and Lafayette Consolidated Government.

This will be the first time Rodrigue’s work will be on display on a significant scale in his hometown, Lafayette, Louisiana. Gala events such as the weeklong Festival of the Arts, an honorary degree to the artist, and the declaration of Rodrigue Day by the city will round out the significant offerings. The young generation of artists in Acadiana will be touched and inspired both by Rodrigue’s work and his presence.

March 14 April 26, 2009 The Acadiana Center for the Arts hosts the exhibition George Rodrigue: Legends and Lives of Acadiana, featuring more than 60 original oil paintings borrowed from area collectors, presenting the people, places and lore of Acadiana as created by George Rodrigue, including his first Blue Dog canvas.

March 14 March 31, 2009 (AcA Side Gallery) Blue Dog: The Process of Printing, featuring a history of the development and process of Rodrigue fine art silkscreens.

January 17 September 5, 2009 The Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette hosts the exhibition George Rodrigue: Images of Home, showcasing the early Rodrigue works from their collection, supplemented by additions from local collections, with an emphasis on the cultural and historic significance of Rodrigues Cajun works.
