Here Cat is warming up for stadium at the Rocking Horse event. She’s a bit of a different mover when she’s ridden more uphill–in fact, IMO, she’s going to be a great mover once she develops more advanced carriage.

The comment was a continuation of a previous one–on her dressage test. Karen rode the test very conservatively, which made a LOT of sense given how she’d only sat on Cat twice before! Cat is built “level to downhill” (alas), so when she is ridden in a long, “low” frame, she tends to bury her front legs under her (unlike in this clip where Karen has her very “up”. Compare the canter here with the dressage clip). The reach and airiness in Cat’s movement is effected by her frame due to her build.
