Since Carmel is (or was) a popular girl’s name in Ireland, I’d like to know how the Irish pronounce it — kahr-MEHL, KAHR-mehl, KAHR-muhl, KAHR-MEHL (with an even emphasis on both syllables), or in some other way.

Make it the day before just to be sure. Caramel Cake is best if mad the day before then it is able cool completely and it is just easier. Don’t make it today.

We’re riding through on a trip up north and have always passed by in the past but have decided to stop this time.

Edit: We usually stay in Monterey and do enjoy the aquarium but were going to skip it this time for Carmel.
We usually only spend a day in each place.
While it’s not technically in carmel but is very close, I would recommend the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It’s great there.
