II got it because a comparable total gym would cost thousands more.. On the TT, it takes some use to getting to because of the slant of the board; plus it’s always rolling. I wouldn’t recommend this machine if you’re older and haven’t used exercise machines. before. Otherwise, this machine can support 370 lbs plus. My chest and shoulders really popped within a few days of use of this thing. Unless you’re super fit now, I don’t think you’ll need another machine. It is solidly put together.

Yep, that’s where I bought mine. LUCKILY, they also refunded all my money! I like the fact I was able to try ALL the models first in their showroom too. But after trying (and buying) the Bayou model, I couldn’t even stand the Total Gym.

I went out on a limb and bought the Total Gym (Similar Product) for $75 used and it actually works. I had my doubts, but I felt the soreness in my muscles the next day. This seems to be a better product as far as adding more weight, so I may have to rig some sort of method to add more weight to my gym.

To be honest though I wouldn’t buy these brand new, often times people buy these home gyms and they sit around gathering dust, such is the case with the previous owner. Check craigslist.

Ive had the single aluminum pro model for around 2-3 years, works mostly core strength, & has increased my strength BIG TIME, there prodcuts ARE legit, VERY well made, VERY durable, & I second what vertigo says lol total gym isnt even close, far lessssss, & lots more exspensive, I highly recomend.

Buddy of mine has Total Gym, I own the Bayou, The Bayou is by far better built, plus this video is of an earlier version, the newer model has clips on the platform part which allows the cables to be attached there allowing different cable angle.
there are even more expensive models, but if you compare entry level Bayou with Entry level Total Gym, the Bayou is way better period. Im a tall guy 6′2″ and the Total Gym is smaller than the Bayou.

I have the TT5000 and as an ex pro athlete I can tell you this machine can sure handle pressure. By the time I get off mine the rail underneath is really warm and yet I’ve never had to replace and component in the 6 years I’ve had it. Oh it craps all over a similarly priced total gym.

I have the Bayou mono version and have had it for 5 years. This thing is bullet proof and for $500 is a phenomenal deal compared to the total gym of comparable value. My buddy has a total gym and they are very comparable, the total gym is not any better in terms of quality. Using both, I much prefer my bayou trainer.

I have the Bayou’s Light Institutional Total Trainer Power Pro Home Gym. It can handle 500lbs and a 6′7″ man. As a former college football player i was looking for a home workout that could just keep me in shape. I have tried the total gym and I can tell you that the Total Trainer Pro is a far superior product and a lot cheaper. Clearly, bayou fitness puts the money in the product and not in infomercials or celebrity endorsements.

Looks funny, but isn’t that good for building up pure mass as the good old bench press.

But I think for people who only wants to be fit and energetic, it could be the right thing. :)

    Good looking …
Good looking machine that takes up little room and is portable. Can’t be beat for strength training, loosing weight, toning and looking good.
It’s more affordable than what the celebs sell on TV for hundreds more. Bayou Fitness sells several models and is a much better bang for your buck. They come with many accessories unlike other machines out there and have Strength and Pilates models to. They all include DVD video and great warranties to.
IMHO, Bayou Total Trainers are “TOTAL”_LY Awesome!
